Gift Award Winner 2018

Gift Award Winner 2018
Charles Page High School Senior
Zoey Hughes
Presented by SSCT President, Jen Burke

Every year Sand Springs Community Theatre is honored to present a financial gift award to a CPHS Senior who has been outstanding in the performing arts. This young woman has impressed me from almost the first moment I met her. She was a 7th grade stand out in a drama class full of shy young middle schoolers. It was a joy to direct her for both Clyde Boyd MIddle School and Sand Springs Community Theatre, where she played my Snoopy in A Charlie Brown Christmas.

In the four years since then, she has also been a stand out on this very stage. I was blown away by her performance in The Drowsy Chaperone, and most recently her powerful portrayal of Violet in 9-5. She has been a stand out off the stage as well, exhibiting excellent leadership as a director for one act plays and as Co-President for the CPHS Chapter of the Thespian Society.

In addition to being an award winning actor and director, she stands out with a wonderful soul and positive attitude that brightens the lives of anyone who knows her, including mine. It is my great pleasure to present the 2018 Sand Springs Community Theatre Award to Ms. Zoey Hughes.

(P.S. … I love you and am so proud of you! -Jen Burke)
